Monday's Child is Fair of Face

Monday's child is fair of face.  I saw an adorable tiny three weeks old baby at church.  Me..I was old fashioned about that and tended not to expose my babies to a lot of people with their attending germs etc.  But I think that caution is pretty much pooh poohed now.  This baby boy was actually born on a Monday and he definitely has the face on an angel.  But all babies do.  I wish I had had a dozen.

I have been toiling on the treadmill this morning.  The phone rang and generally I will not get off for that but I had only just gotten started, so I did answer.  Good thing.  The pest control man is scheduled for Wednesday 1000 hrs.  Maybe the lady bugs will take heed and leave before he gets here.

I took the camera with me this morning.  One thing almost spoiled my time in that tiny pocket park I went to.  An ancient woman in her car backed blithely into my path as I was making my way into a little shopping area.  Rather than stop..she proceeded on her way with a foul look and nasty snarling at ME.  OK.  If you insist you old harridan.  It'll be my fault for daring to enter the area when you were going to leave.  Good thing one of us was looking; that being me.

So, I took a few pictures and went on to my other things on the schedule to do, and I came back to find Miss Catt curled (except her head) into her "condo" she had from when she was a kitten 11 years ago.  How in the world she gets that ample body into that little condo is for her knowledge only.

Ever think what a harmful instrument the human tongue is when we use it to criticize others..just as I did  a few minutes ago regarding that old lady?  It's not as though expressing my thought about the incident changed what happened, or made a difference in her day or mine.  But..I did it anyway.  I have become increasingly  aware of that and I have made a few stabs at curbing it.  No, I won't delete the remark.Wink but I am aware of it.

Here is one of the things I found at the park.  Click to see it without the blue of the blog coming through if you like.

I probably took my babies out too soon. Sure wouldn't do so now a days, especially with that H1N1 virus floating around. Your rose photo is beautiful. I have a couple roses blooming and haven't even tried to take a picture of them.

Gorgeous rose! And don't worry about curbing your tongue too much. I believe in letting people know how I feel when things are not right---it's all in HOW you say it rather than just saying it. I probably would have told her, "Thanks for not hitting me and causing me to have to give lawyers my life savings when I sue you."

Was that the last rose of summer? Just beautiful. I try to smile at everyone, but like you sometimes, that just doesn't happen, but like you I do try. Have a good Tuesday. Hugs, Patsy

I don't know if I can get the pictures from her but Lovely got about thirty antelope visiting us this morning within a block from our house...we pulled right up to them and they seemed to be quite satisfied to look at us and pose...wonderful to see even if I was without my camera! I love the shot you got there, dirtylooks are sometimes the least of what we've got to brave as photographers LOL! My kids should be roundly and soundly safe from the flu now...they actually had it...it's a relief to be around that bend anyway. Have a good one my friend.

i too was one that didnt want to expose the babies to germs too early and was careful about who came to visit..
today babies are everywhere so early but it is a treat to see them....they are just precious......about as beautiful
    as the flower you captured.

I love Your Rose . How beautiful each petal is . I miss my roses outside. I do think it is hard to live with when I use a harsh word towards anyone else . I always feel so very bad and it hurts me deeply in the end. Some people as you know are never happy and it seems you may have ran across one that is not . It is sad when someone cant smile even at themselves. Great Post.

As for the Baby , Our Hospitals here in Canada are filling with Babies ect with the H1N1.. Germs right now are so dangerous to a Baby or small child. Its scary also as people that need to have medical attention for other things are being put aside with running out of room and beds for everyone. Something to think about.
I just happen to have 5 nurses in my extended family so I hear first hand what is going on.

Have an awesome night dear Carole.

awww, was Miss C feeling badly? poor thing reverting to her childhood!
(sorry, but I dont know what change w/Myst you are speaking of :(

Dear Carole, I too would keep a wee one away from germ infested crowds and never take back a word written or spoken. Of course there have been times when an apology was in order and an explination of intent delivered. The rose is beautiful.
Spot the lady bug and company must have moved south because there were not many around this afternoon as I took my walk. As ever be well, Stephen Craig Rowe

Yes, the human tongue maybe small but is the root of many big problems the world faces today! Nice snaps there.. somehow I can think what the cat thinks - yes, a little bit more and I can get into this dress I wore in my kindergarten :)

The story I'm writing is based on a plot that has a comic twist to it. I'm struggling with the decision to either make it a long drawn out novel the way I'm writing it OR to start publishing the work as a short story inside of a page. Not sure if you've caught all of it at http://vijaykrishnanunplugged.spaces.live.com/

I've had that very same thing happen to me on a few occasions. I guess they forget that the pedestrian ALWAYS has the right of way. Don't worry about being critical, it's human nature and after all she was wrong. Thank God she didn't hit you!
