Rambling OnStories, Tales, Essays, Complaints, Accolades, Observations and Family. 11月23日 I do believe I think that while out in the cold breezy sunshine that day when Miss Catt would not leave her condo, and I had to go outside into the sunny cold breeze for my exercise I developed a cold. A head cold. Been years since I had one if that's what it is. I'm sneezing and feeling not quite as quick as usual. Oh well..many many thanks if that's all I have to worry about. They, the middle son and grandson, will be here tomorrow late as it has to be after school for both of them and too there is that big detour due to the rock slide. That will add at least an additional hour to travel time. I have two big burritos, 10 ounce ones from the deli for them to scarf down when they get here before bed. Probably guarantee a nightmare. I made pumpkin bread to munch on Wednesday. The youngest will stop by for awhile Wednesday after his dental appointment and we'll have lunch..Thursday is Thanksgiving and you know the plan for that..Friday will be Christmas shopping for my grandson with him in tow. He wants clothes and so he can pick them out. My Christmas shopping is 100% done except that. Wrapped up too. Ooops except for that which was ordered on line today that is. Miss Catt put one of her better portraits in Flickr yesterday evening and she got some very nice comments about her beauty.  She and I always appreciate that. She's up to date on her own blog that she keeps. Thank goodness *I* don't have to mess with it. It's enough doing this one. When she decided to tell her side of the story I told her it was her business to keep up and not to bother me with it. She has her own wee set of friends. Tonight is DWTS. I am extremely disappointed that Joanna and Derek were voted off. Just to keep Kelly. I like her too but face it..she dances like you and me pretty much. Her fan base kept her there and the better one was voted off. Joanna's waltz for an example with that song "Hallelujah" that was sung as their music was unearthly, it was so beautiful and ethereal to see. Absolutely the best I have ever been present to see performed by anyone. The music choice was so perfect I was just enchanted by the whole thing. So were the judges in their comments but they hedged in the votes and gave 9's. That helped do them in nd then, they acted all surprised at Joanna being voted off. Come on. Sheesh. OK. Done complaining. Hoping all of you had a great day. And don't catch my cold. (I didn't use my elbow to sneeze into)(I used a tissue)  11月22日 Who Let the Dogs Out? Man...I got some really scurrilous beyond nasty "comments" in the comment section from some Asian entity who has a stack of yahoo addresses attached and a despicable message as well to round it all out. I take it it is an advertisement for filthiness. I deleted the three I had in yesterdays and the last two before that, blogs. I guess I am the only lucky one as no one else has mentioned these disgusting "messages". It wasn't pointed at me per se..just placed there by the usual so-called robot programs. You know, the same sort of thing that has placed real ads in our old blogsfor investments etc. Most of seemed to be getting those a year ago or so. I started out with full intention of making a few hours of it outdoors today but it started raining and I wimped out. I cleaned house instead. Not the same thing and I didn't even do my weights or hop onto the treadmill.As Scarlett O'Hara would say, tomorrow is another day. They will be here from over the mountains (via the I-81 detour off of I-40 and then back on again) Tuesday. I am looking forward to it. However they are forewarned that Miss Catt has been practicing her Opera scales every morning for an hour. It's just how it is. We are going to the Double Tree Hotel's fine restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner. The huge variety is better than anything I can do in extreme variety (beef-ham-turkey-duck whatever you want) and it is prepared better than I can ever do. All of the Chefs are there to carve the meats and it's an awesome sight and the food is delectable. Worth every dime. I made the reservations for 5 yesterday. There are a good 40 varieties of desserts. And vast amounts of them too. No one seems out and about much here in blog land so I will bid you goodbye.  11月21日 Done come an' Gone The oldest was here as of last evening until noon today and I had the pleasure of feeding him up. One thing that I won't do is bake the chicken again. Oh it was good enough but that was all...good enough not delicious. I was a tad disappointed. My all time favorite really is that Italian grilled chicken I showed you a picture of while it was pan grilling and what a great seasoning I made for it. Next time, that's what we will do. But we had that and instead of potatoes of any type I chose another type of rice dish that he was not all that enthused about. He ate it but it wasn't his most favorite. However..this morning was all about three biscuits, strawberry preserves, butter, a mess of scrambled eggs and lots of thick cut bacon along with black coffee. That was his breakfast..mine was two slices of toast with honey and a 14 oz. cuppa joe. He, the oldest son also bought a new iTouch as did I..I blogged about it yesterday, so we had those iTouches out part of the evening trying to get up to speed on using it. I got more Apps too for mine. Free Apps. And thank you Jade for telling me about Twit Bird. I only have one paid for App..the bird one. I have had bird App envy since my youngest got his iPhone when they first came out and as he updates when new iterations are issued out..he updates his Apps too and as he is a hobbyist photographer of nature scenes and birds..he has learned most of the birds and their sounds already from experience. But sometimes one shows up that you don't recognize and our Apps have every one (bird) in the U.S. in it. Ain't no one flying by that we won't be able to see in the App and hear their voices too. It is so cool!!! And now I don't have to be jealous of that App. It is another outstandingly sunny and sparkling crisp day. Even though it was 57, I had the car's moon roof opened some so as to get the sun on me and have the fresh air. That will end within a week or so as it will be too cold. Just taking advantage of a great day again. No outside exercise as I have been gone and too..very little sleep. OH. That picture of the paper in the file in my kitchen yesterday. No one must have noticed that I said that picture was several months old. So the little file had been cleaned up at that time. Miss Catt said no more photos of her commode either. She'll make me pay! See you soon.  11月20日 All Ahead Stop We are, or rather *I* am at all ahead stop right now. I am dressed for the treadmill, the fan is set up on the stool in front of it..bandanna on my punkin head, and I came to a screeching halt. That screech is the sound of me stopping as my foot was about to get on the treadmill track bed. Why? Her (who could I mean?) condo (a short pet tower just big enough for her) is now occupied. That condo is up against the treadmill and I am not going to run off a dignified older lady by turning it on. I will wait. Everything is ready for me so I can go on and do other things. I just like to get it done first off as a rule. Yesterday late afternoon I got my iPod Touch. I spent pleasant hours getting it set up, transferring items from my other Apple products, syncing it, getting Apps for it..I even sent a little email from it to my youngest who is proud of me because I didn't call and ask for instruction. I am not that literate at computer anything, so I'm glad I got through as well as I have. I also got the rather expensive App for birds...the so called big one. May as well know who the birds are everywhere in the US or more..as I am a birder. I also bought a case for it from the Apple Store made for the iTouch. That wasn't inexpensive but the slithery thing had slipped thru my hands two times yesterday. That's scary as I got the most powerful one and it wasn't cheap. Then I was looking at all of the Apps till near bedtime. The oldest will be here after work. Chicken and lots of it baking for supper tonight. I bought the bone in breasts by Tyson. I got a full pound and just over for less than I would have paid for boneless..again that package weighed over a pound less. I did the math. and got the much better deal :-) Next week the son in Charlotte will be here. Thanksgiving is coming!! 11月19日 Oh what a good girl am I!Me..I am a good girl. I finally did the job I detest the most. Two detestable jobs matter of fact. One, I went thru all of that standing file on the little kitchen desk top that holds letters, etc, and completely went thru it. A pile for bank statements, a pile for keeping there..one for the shredder, one for receipts, you can see where it went from there. It was stuffed waaaay over capacity and looked like a Hydra head each time I looked at it or tried to fit something else into it. I know I was in danger of turning to stone as one does when one glances directly at the Hydra..so, I looked backward from a mirror to avoid it (I AM kidding) But I got that 45 minute (it took that long there was so much jammed in there) job done Then, onto equally yucky stuff. I cleaned out my jammed past capacity undie/sock/bandanna drawer. My word! How do I accumulate that stuff?
I threw away older things that had seen better days among the three types of items there, and socks that slithered down my heel while I am on the treadmill. I should have pitched them as soon as I got off of the treadmill But no, that would have been too smart. Instead I put them in the laundry and cussed the day when I put them on my feet on a given day..repeating the same silly chain of error. Now, I have a lot of room. And it took a decent amount of time. Next I need to weed out the summer tank tops (I have a collection worthy of opening my own store). And get rid of T shirts that I love but are woefully out of shape, never did fit at all..and too small..too large..just do it type of thing. The clothes closet is waiting too. There's a black hole in there ready to take me to oblivion if I don't weed it OUT! I go thru this every 18 months or so. Apparently it's fun for me to buy tops..I have a kazillion of 'em.
If I haven't told you lately, you guys are the best..always were, always will be.
  Here the desk and file are. This was bad (on the right) but not as bad as it gets. I took this months ago.
